All Your Mana Base Are Belong To Us

Ravnica's mana fixing has left the format but that does not seem to be a problem to the determined Standard deckbuilder. There are an incredible number of high quality dual lands in the Standard environment right now.

First lets look at my preferred manabase for Faeries at the moment:

4 River of Tears
4 Underground River
4 Secluded Glen
4 Faerie Conclave
4 Mutavault
1 Pendlehaven
1 Snow-Covered Swamp
4 Snow-Covered Island

This is one incredible manabase, it is shockingly consistent and has eight manlands that can go on the offensive. However it is only set to improve in the coming weeks with the advent of Shadowmoor. Shadowmoor gives the deck Sunken Ruins and (possibly) Reflecting Pool. My first draft of the manabase is:

4 River of Tears
4 Underground River
4 Secluded Glen
4 Faerie Conclave
4 Mutavault
1 Pendlehaven
3 Snow-Covered Island
2 Sunken Ruins

But honestly that is just an idea I might change things around a great deal. I've told several people that if I find a way to sideboard Kitchen Finks in Faeries the deck will be unbeatable, I've only been half joking.

A blue source + Mystic Gate can cast the Finks as can Pendlehaven + Reflecting Pool, or several other combinations of cards. This is far from the best manabase for accomplishing my goal but I think it shows my point. Mark my words, hybrid mana and filter lands could make for some crazy decks.
